The faculty of the Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design (MOME) has developed a unique course in Central and Eastern Europe, the so-called Business to Design (B2D) educational program, which is specifically designed to meet the needs of the creative industry and to transfer a business approach to students, MOME told MTI on Thursday.
The B2D program will be implemented by renowned professionals and entrepreneurs from the sector, MOME alumni and invited international speakers. A special feature is that the educational program is part of the curriculum, making it a compulsory subject for all undergraduate students.
According to the press release, the Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design started working on the three-semester Business to Design course in 2021, which is a unique educationally forward-looking course and a compulsory subject for all undergraduate students in the region.
Its elements have been developed to respond specifically to the challenges of the creative industries and the issues specific to art and design education. Its innovative structure includes a number of case studies, self-learning elements and exercises in which participants can work on their own project ideas in groups.
“The business module helps designers to understand market thinking, to discover the best career paths for them, and to discover the forms of entrepreneurship best suited to their goals, specialism and personality, in addition to their professional knowledge of their field," the summary says.
