Vodafone Hungary, together with the Delta Group and SEOS, created a 'digital classroom' concept suitable for both virtual and physical use.
As reported by telecompaper, the digital classroom consists of an interactive whiteboard used by the teacher, a teacher’s sheet and student tools (typically tablets). The tools are provided by the Delta Group, but it is also possible to integrate the systems owned by the institution. The framework software for the smart room is provided by the firm SEOS.
According to Vodafone Hungary Enterprise Business Unit Director István Király, the digital classroom is primarily recommended for primary and secondary schools. He explained that the project can adequately support class work in vocational training, language schools and university training, regardless of whether it takes place in real or virtual space.
The construction of the digital classroom from scratch will involve an investment of approximately HUF 5-12 million, depending on each school's requirements, and the institution will have to pay HUF 600 per student and per month for the software licence required for its use.
