Festive Book Week, the biggest celebration of contemporary Hungarian literature is being held for the 89th time this year (June 7-11). It was opened at Vörösmarty Square in downtown Budapest but satellite events are organized throughout the country.

The Millenaris Park in Budapest will see - between April 14 and 17 - one of the greatest international gatherings of the year: international authors, exhibitions related to Hungary’s EU Presidency and a good glance at the book market.
“This festival is not exclusively about books,” organizers of the 17th International Book Festival say. It is more likely a festival of combined arts. Film screenings, theater performances and a number of exhibitions are available to the public every year.
