Hungary is fully committed to the fight against anti-Semitism, and takes a zero tolerance stance against anti-Semitic manifestations, Hungarian state secretary Szabolcs Takács pointed out at the UN ceremony held in remembrance of the victims of the Holocaust.

Eight countries, including Hungary, participate in the establishment and start of operation of the European Institute of Peace, with the aim of contributing to the prevention of conflicts and the handling of crises emerging on the continent and other regions.

On the model of its policy opening to the countries of the East, the Hungarian government plans a similar move towards Latin America. As part of this effort, Budapest will host the second Hungary – Latin America Forum this summer.

It is an important aim for Hungary - as a European Union member state and also an independent country - to establish an active, deepening and expanding system of relations with Latin America, a high-ranking Foreign Ministry official stated this Wednesday.

The Hungarian-Israeli Joint Economic Committee met for the second time in Jerusalem on May 29 to discuss the possibilities of developing cooperation between the two countries. The first meeting of this Joint Commission was held in 2009, in Budapest.

Hungary may re-open its embassy in Nigeria later this year as part of the country’s opening towards sub-Saharan Africa, according to an interview with Deputy State Secretary Szabolcs Takács of the Hungarian Foreign Ministry.
