In February 2018, the number of nights spent by international tourists increased by 7.4% and that of nights spent by domestic tourists by 11% compared to a year earlier. Total gross revenues grew by 12% at current prices in accommodation establishments.

Makó hotels receive best ratings in Hungary

According to the trivago Rating Index (tRI), the southeastern town of Makó tops the list of Hungarian settlements as the town's hotels received the best reviews from travelers. Hungary was 13th in the ranking of European countries, MTI reports.

The Budapest city council has invited tenders to operate "hop-on, hop-off" sightseeing buses in the city, the Hungarian news agency MTI reported. The concession is for 20 years and guarantees a monopoly on a market worth 1.5 billion annually.
