Budapest Airport, the management company of the Hungarian capital’s Ferenc Liszt International Airport is providing its partners with a new competitive advantage, by introducing a state-of-the-art digital solution, the company says in its latest bulletin.
By using a new, cloud-based Cargo Community System, all players in the air cargo value chain can make their business processes more efficient, the statement says. The system is designed to provide a single platform for all members of the cargo ecosystem to communicate, document and manage their cargo-related tasks. Stakeholders can continue to use their own systems, and the complementary community IT solution connects to these.
The Airport Cargo Community System eliminates the need for paper-based data entry and enables users to optimize their operations with up-to-date traffic data and reports, as well as process management. In addition to supporting the activities of business partners, the service can also facilitate authority functions. This makes the entire supply chain more transparent, with more efficient and sustainable processes.
One of the catalysts for BUD Cargo’s spectacular success is the fact that developments are made in close cooperation with stakeholders in the cargo business. BUD Cargo conducted extensive consultations with stakeholders on the implementation of the Airport Cargo Community System, and based on this, it conducted an invitational tender and selected Kale Logistics’ European subsidiary, Kale Info Solutions Europe B.V., which operates similar systems at 46 airports around the world. BUD Cargo and Kale started implementing the system from April.
