May 1, 2020

The first resumed flights from Budapest's Liszt Ferenc International Airport took off this Friday, and the passengers complied with the security measures, the airport operator told the Hungarian news agency MTI.

The first flight was that of Wizz Air to Berlin at 06.17 in the morning, the staff was prepared for the passengers, the inspection and delivery were smooth, Budapest Airport announced. The operator stressed that every effort will be made to keep passengers and workers safe at the airport.

Maintaining proper distance between passengers is helped with both floor stickers and information boards. In addition, hand sanitizers are constantly refilled and disinfectant cleaning is performed more frequently. Staff members who, due to their work, are unable to maintain a distance of 1.5 meters between persons must wear a mask.

Wizz Air and KLM announced last week that they would resume from early May some of the flights they had previously suspended due to the coronavirus outbreak.
