The Hungarian Wine Academy has awarded the Wine Producer of the Year for the 27th time. This time, the recognition went to an internationally known winemaker, Mátyás Szõke whose winery is in the Mátra hill region, east of Budapest.

The National Wine Treasury Program has been launched in Hungary with the help of funds -
close to HUF 1.5 billion (EUR 4.8 mn) - allocated by the government, starting a unique preservation process in the history of Hungarian viticulture.

27 types of wine from 19 producers in Hungary's historical wine production region Tokaj will go under the hammer at the 4th Grand Tokaj auction this April. All 27 are special items that cannot be purchased anywhere else currently.
