A three-day festival started in Pecs in the south of Hungary, culture capital of Europe in 2010, on Wednesday, to close a year-long series of concerts, exhibitions, film shows and many other events of culture and entertainment.

The Kodály Center, a major investment project of this year's European Capital of Culture project, was formally opened Thursday in Pécs, southern Hungary. It is to serve primarily as a venue for a venue primarily for conferences and concerts.

A myriad of programs awaits visitors in Pécs this summer. With the M60 motorway finally completed, it takes no more than 2 hours to reach Hungary’s most Mediterranean city.
