A three-day festival started in Pecs in the south of Hungary, culture capital of Europe in 2010, on Wednesday, to close a year-long series of concerts, exhibitions, film shows and many other events of culture and entertainment.
The closing "mini-festival", organised in the city centre, focuses on folk music and folk dance on Wednesday and Thursday, while New Year's Eve will be celebrated with concerts by The Crybabies, Punnany Massif, the Singas Project, Eszter Takats and Ska-Pecs, the press office of Pecs2010 disclosed a statement.
The statement said that organisers were expecting thousands to attend the event, and noted that the opening event in January had attracted some 15,000 people.
