This year, the Swiss Chamber of Commerce in Hungary (SwissCham) celebrates the 20th anniversary of its foundation. In the recent Swiss Focus of Diplomacy & Trade, the President of the organization talked about the past two decades and the years to come.

Having arrived to Hungary over two years ago, the Swiss Ambassador to Hungary, Jean-François Paroz says in an interview in the January issue of Diplomacy & Trade that he is satisfied with the achievement of several goals he set at the beginning of his term.

At a meeting in Bratislava, the Prime Ministers of the Visegrád Group highlighted the importance of Swiss investments in Europe, and with reference to the order of magnitude of those investments, voiced their request that the V4 should benefit more from them.

A Swiss-Hungarian model project has been launched to improve and expand basic services in Hungary’s underdeveloped regions. The program, announced this week in Budapest, also aims to involve Roma residents in public health programs.

Swiss Ambassador Christian Mühlethaler arrived to Hungary for the first time in 1969 as a tourist and came back several times as a tour guide in the 1970s. He gave an interview for the Swiss Focus section in Diplomacy & Trade.
