The Hungarian government and UNICEF announced this week that they agreed in principle to establish UNICEF’s first-ever Global Shared Services Center in Budapest. It will conduct a broad range of UNICEF’s financial and human resources operations worldwide.
An exhibition was opened at Budapest’s Katona József Theater, displaying the works of school children. Each of the creations is inspired by a UNICEF photo, depicting some of the most pressing issues of our time, for instance child poverty and environment protection.
Hungarian sociologist and academic Zsuzsa Ferge received on Tuesday the UNICEF Bouquet of Appreciation, awarded in recognition of Ferge's efforts to address child poverty in Hungary spanning several decades.
