Departing Japanese Ambassador Tetsuo To has been awarded a high state distinction. The award was presented by the Hungarian President János Áder who received the ambassador in the Sándor Palace in the Buda Castle on Tuesday.

Hungary’s industrial production rose by 2.6% month on month in August, according to data adjusted seasonally and by working days, the Central Statistics Office (KSH) has reported on Friday. This comes after a 1.2% decline in July.

Justice Minister Tibor Navracsics has written to senior Bolivian officials, asking them to ensure that Hungarian national Elõd Tóásó, who is accused of terrorism and has been detained for more than three years without trial, can stand trial and mount a free defence.

Hungary takes over defense of Kabul airport

As of October 1st, Hungary took over the international mission to protect Kabul International Airport in Afghanistan from Belgium that performed this task for nearly ten years. Apart from Hungarians, the new protection force also includes Portuguese soldiers.

Hungary and Romania to continue partnership
