János Áder has been elected as the President of Hungary by the ruling parties, Fidesz and KDNP, in Hungarian Parliament. He received 262 votes in the assembly of 386 members with the opposition not participating or voting ‘no’.

Originally, Koninginnedag was celebrated on the birthday of the queen,
Queen's day is nowadays celebrated on the birthday of the late Queen-mother (Juliana).

Joe Muranyi dies at 84

American jazz clarinetist Joe Muranyi, of Hungarian descent, has died at the age of 84 in New York City. He played in Louis Armstrong’s All Stars group, as well as with many other jazz legends. He also performed in Hungary several times.
