Hungarian side Dunaújváros defeated Germany's TuS Metzingen 29-21 in the second leg of the final of the women's EHF Cup (the second most prestigious competition of the European Handball Federation), to win the trophy with an aggregate result of 55-49.

Norwegian coach Karl Erik Böhn is the new manager of the Hungarian women’s national handball team. His contract expires until after the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. However, his contract may be supervised or even canceled.
