India's 65th Independence Day was celebrated in the Indian Cultural Center in Budapest this Sunday evening. The event was attended - at the invitation of Ambassador Malay Mishra - by members of the diplomatic corsp and those of the Indian community in Hungary. The guest of honor of the celebration was Hungarian Foreign Minister János Martonyi. In the famework of the celebration, an exhibition on Mahatma Gandhi was also opened.

Hungarian PM signs nuclear deal in Moscow

Russia will lend up to EUR 10 billion to Hungary to help build two new units at the Paks nuclear power plant. This was announced after President Vladimir Putin agreed on a co-operation deal with visiting Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán.

Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs János Martonyi paid an official visit to Chile between January 5 and 7 and reopened the Hungarian Embassy in Santiago de Chile. He also had talks with his counterpart and with the leaders of the Chilean Congress.
