The daily heat record for June 10 in Budapest was broken by more than two degrees Celsius this Tuesday as 36.3 degrees were measured in the northern part of the capital. According to the weather forecast, the heat is to decelerate on Thursday, the earliest.

This winter has so far been unseasonably mild in Hungary. Daily heat records were broken again this Friday afternoon with over 12 degrees Celsius measured in Budapest and over 15 degrees in Békéscsaba in the southeast of the country.

Day by day new heat records are broken in Hungary with the maximum daily temperatures reaching 38 degrees Celsius (about 100 degrees Fahrenheit) and even the dawn temperatures are higher than ever before. No improvement expected before next week.

August 25th was another record-breaking day as the temperature reached all-time highs for this day both in Budapest and nationwide. In the Hungarian capital, temperature was first measured officially in 1871.
