Historic gold for Hungary in PyeongChang

The Hungarian quartet of Csaba Burján, Viktor Knoch, Liu Shaoang and Sándor Liu Shaolin won the men's 5,000-meter short-track event at the PyeongChang Winter Olympics, taking the first ever gold medal for the country in the history of the Winter Games.

The Hungarian government suggests that the Budapest City Council and the Hungarian Olympic Committee withdraw from the bid to host the 2024 Summer Games. Over quarter of a million signatures were collected to force a referendum on the issue.
