Hungary has defended the women's kayak-four 500-meter title at the Rio Olympics, bringing the country's gold medal tally at the 2016 Games to eight. The team of Gabriella Szabó, Danuta Kozák, Tamara Csipes and Krisztina Fazekas-Zur defeated Germany to win the race.
It was the third gold medal for Danuta Kozák at the Rio Olympics as she also won the 500-meter single kayak and the 500-meter kayak-double (paired with Gabriella Szabó). With two titles won in London four years ago, she is now a five-times Olympic champion.
