Nokia to lay off 2,300 Hungarian workers

Finnish electronics giant Nokia has announced the lay-off of 2,300 people from its smartphone factory in Komárom, northern Hungary. The Hungarian Ministry of National Economy and Nokia will establish a workgroup to help the laid off workers.

Based on the Board of Directors’ decision, Hungary’s national airline ceased its operation to minimize its losses. According to the company's statement, after nearly 66 years of continuous operation, Malév aircrafts will not depart from 6 a.m. on February 3.
