The owners of the Mellow Mood Group, Mr. Sameer Hamdan and Mr. Zuhair Awad were awarded the Gold Cross of Merit of Hungary for their activities in Hungarian hotel development in which they have long been involved.
The two Jordanian-born businessmen were presented with the recognition by the Minister for National Development, Mrs. Zsuzsanna Németh, for their activities in Hungarian hotel development only a few days after the opening of Buddha-Bar Hotel Budapest Klotild Palace. The solemn ceremony was also attended by Mr. Zaid Naffa, Honorary Consul of Jordan.
The hotel group, operating 12 hotels in Budapest, plays a significant role in the Hungarian hotel industry in developing and improving the conditions of domestic tourism. The Minister emphasized that with their investments, Sameer Hamdan and Zuhair Awad created hundreds of new jobs in Budapest and also brought new vibrance to the capital’s. She also stressed that the renovation of the Klotild Palace is an outstanding performance of conservation of a historic monument.
Sameer Hamdan and Zuhair Awad, who were in 2010 awarded as the ‘Tourism Investors of the Year' in Hungary, said they started to deal with tourism in Hungary 20 years ago. They emphasized that Mellow Mood is like a big family, and the number of their colleagues will soon reach 800.
