The vacuum cleaner factory in Jászberény, SE of Budapest, that supplies the European market, has been committed to innovation for 14 years within Electrolux that celebrates the 100th anniversary of vacuum cleaner innovation this year.
It was a century ago that Electrolux introduced Lux 1, its very first vacuum cleaner. Since then, the company has presented a wide range of innovations, which have revolutionized the way we clean our houses. The middle and high-end vacuum cleaners currently available in the European market come from the company's 14-year-old Jászberény factory, which has grown into a strategic factory, due to continuous investments..
Electrolux celebrates the 100th anniversary of vacuum cleaner innovation this year, and since the beginning in 1912, the company has a total of 350 million vacuum cleaners sold globally. Currently Electrolux has three vacuum cleaner factories (in Mexico, Brazil and Hungary), and one dust bag manufacturing facility (in Sweden), while the company is still a pioneer of innovation, regarding sustainability and environmental values as of high importance.
Being the company’s only producer of vacuum cleaners in Europe, the factory in Jászberény has a strategic position in the sector as a supplier of the company's middle and high-end equipments for the European and all other continent’s markets, while it is also the manufacturer of Electrolux's environmentally friendly models made of recycled plastic.
In the past decade, the factory in Jászberény proved to be cost-effective, and due to the constant improvement it has also reached an excellent quality level, clearly proven by service call indicators. Since the establishment of the factory, the company has spent substantial amounts on new production capacity and modernization, and in 2012 it will increase investments by 50% compared to 2011 in new machinery, tools and assembly lines.
