EU Laser Research Center Opens in Szeged

The European Union's ELI-ALPS laser research center was inaugurated in Szeged, SE Hungary. The center's budget was HUF 70 billion (EUR 22.6 million), from which 85% was provided by the European Union’s Regional Development Fund.

The reservoir in Budapest's 10th disctrict was opened to the public this Wednesday as March 22 is World Water Day (as declared by the United Nations in 1993). This reservoir is an important source of drinking water people in the Hungarian capital.

Hungarian students die in Italy bus accident

16 people, most of them grammar school students from Budapest, have died in a bus accident on the motorway near Verona, Italy Friday night. The bus first hit the motorway barrier and crashed into the pillar of a flyover, followed by a fire on board.
