A man armed with a Kalashnikov began shooting in the courthouse in the southern Hungarian town of Kiskunhalas this Wednesday morning. He reportedly wanted to go to the chief prosecutor's office to kill him but he was wrestled down by security guards.

Hungary's Sándor Liu Shaolin won the 500-meter event at the World Short Track Skating Championships in Seoul, South Korea this Saturday with his brother, Shaoang coming in third. Shaoang secured another medal for Hungary: a silver at 1,500 meters.

On February 9 alone, a group of 24 people, identifying themselves as the citizens of Pakistan, India and Nepal, was caught in the Röszke area, near the city of Szeged, after they cut through the fence on the Serbo-Hungarian border and entered Hungary illegally.
