Lufthansa Systems Hungária will open a new division at its base in Szeged, southeastern Hungary, specializing in the development and testing of software used in the aviation industry, state news agency MTI reported.
The division will initially employ 10-15 IT professionals but the company plans to increase headcount by 15-20 employees every year. Lufthansa Systems started operations in Hungary 24 years ago. The Hungarian unit, which was the German company’s first foreign subsidiary, currently employs about 450 IT experts, supplying software solutions to more than 300 partners in the aviation industry. The company reported net revenue of HUF 6.8 billion in 2018, according to public records.
