Preparatory processes related to the construction of the BMW Group's future plant in Debrecen, E Hungary have reached another important milestone: after the successful land preparation works commissioned by the city of Debrecen, the BMW Group will officially take over the area by the end of May, according to a press release by BMW Hungary.
"We remain committed to the Debrecen plant, but due to the economic situation caused by the coronavirus epidemic, we need to rethink the schedule of the construction work," Michele Melchiorre, the designated head of the Debrecen plant is quoted in the press release.
"We are extremely satisfied with the already implemented processes related to the project, thanks to which we were able to start the first steps of the construction according to the original plans. We thank the city of Debrecen and the government of Hungary for their trust and professional cooperation,” he added.
