Due to the coronavirus epidemic, the 26th K&H Mozdulj! ('Move!') half marathon and running festival was held in an unusual format in the Hungarian capital this Saturday.

Árpád Kocsis, managing director of the organizer Budapest Sports Office said there was a running race in the outskirts of the capital at the beginning of January, and since then, it was the first in Budapest since the coronavirus epidemic.

He added that the organizers were careful despite the declared end of the emergency, and although, the K&H move! running festival was a relay race for 25 years, this time there was no possibility for teams of three and six to participate, it could only be entered individually.

He recalled that thousands of people used to start together, but now, the runners started in groups of twenty, running on two-by-two-lane roads, thus also helping to keep the rules of distance.

Árpád Kocsis revealed that interest was more subdued this year than usual. "We were expecting more entrants, because although a field of 2,500 people is not a bad number, we are used to as many as 10-20,000 people participating at this event. Of course, it is not a problem that people are careful, because the epidemic is far from over," he explained.
