The new coronavirus infection (COVID-19) was detected in 5,162 new Hungarian citizens, thus increasing the number of infected people identified in Hungary to 114,778.
The majority of the 55 deaths that occurred in the past 24 hours were elderly, chronic patients. With them, the number of deaths rose to 2,493 while 26,151 people have already recovered. The official number of active infections according to the relevant government website is 86,134. 6,061 patients with coronavirus are being hospitalized, 415 of whom are on ventilators.
The site notes number of infected people is growing exponentially throughout Europe, in the neighboring countries and in Hungary, and more and more people are requesting hospital care. The goal is to slow down the epidemic.
