As part of the measures related to the coronavirus epidemic, to protect drivers in the capital, the front door on buses and trolleybuses will not be opened from Monday, March 29, and the front of vehicles will be closed with a cordon.
From Monday, March 29, the first door may not be used on buses and trolleybuses to protect drivers in Budapest – vehicles may be boarded at the second, third or fourth door. At the same time, in the same way as last year, the part of the vehicles close to the driver's cabin will be cordoned off.
The aim of the measure is to minimize the risk of coronavirus disease in drivers. In Budapest, thousands of bus and trolley drivers ensure the functionality of surface public transport every day, therefore, their protection is extremely important for those traveling in the capital.
