COVID-19: Improving Data, 270 Deaths Over the Weekend

In the past three days, 21,219 new infections and 270 deaths have been confirmed in Hungary, according to the government website koronavirus.gov.hu.

This means that the total number of identified infections since the beginning of the outbreak in this country is 1,348,233, while the 270 fatalities, most of them elderly, chronic patients, bring the total number of deaths related to the new coronavirus infection to 40,507.

The number of cured people is now 1,169,775 while the number of active infected people has risen to 137,951.

2630 patients with coronavirus infection are in hospital, 228 of whom are on ventilators. The number of people hospitalized has risen slightly, but the number of people requiring ventilation has fallen compared to previous figures.

As the website says, the omicron variant is already spreading strongly and increasing the number of infected people in Hungary. Getting a booster vaccine can prevent the disease from becoming severe.

The total number of vaccinated persons is 6,319,434, of which 6,059,382 have already received their second vaccination and 3,417,089 have already received their confirmatory third vaccination.
