Weekly COVID-19 Report: 2,063 New Infections, 40 Deaths

A total of 2,063 new infections were confirmed last week, bringing the total number of identified infections since the start of the outbreak to 1,919,840. In the past week, 40 patients have died, bringing the total number of deaths to 46,547, the official government site koronavirus.gov.hu reports.

The number of cured patients is now 1,847,746, while the number of actively infected has fallen to 25,547. 362 patients with coronavirus infection are in hospital, 13 of whom are on ventilators, while 345 are under official house quarantine.

Last week's figures published this Wednesday show that 6,410,059 people have now been vaccinated, of whom 6,196,483 have received their second, 3,877,866 their third and 300,266 their fourth vaccination.

According to the National Center for Public Health on Tuesday, the national average of coronavirus concentrations in wastewater continues to fall.
