COVID-19: More Actively Infected Patients in Hungary

There were over 21,000 people registered as actively infected with the new coronavirus in Hungary in the previous seven days with an increasing number of patients in hospital, according to the Wednesday report of aggregated figures published on the related government website koronavirus.gov.hu.

COVID-19 figures on the site suggest that 10,255 new infections have been confirmed and 40 patients have died over the one-week period; the total number of active infections is 21,258.

Currently, 866 coronavirus patients are hospitalized, of whom 17 are on ventilators.

A week ago, it was reported that the number of new cases of coronavirus had increased, but the figures from a week ago were much lower than the latest figures.

Between July 6 and 13 in total:
8,036 new cases confirmed,
35 deaths, mostly of elderly, chronic patients,
the number of active infected persons was 15,907,
628 patients with coronavirus were hospitalized,
16 were on ventilators.

The total number of vaccinated persons is 6,412,843, of whom 6,199,845 are on their second, 3,887,027 on their third and 311,547 on their fourth vaccination.
