Agricultural machinery manufacturer Optigép Ltd., based in Békés, SE Hungary, has implemented a capacity expansion project worth more than HUF half a billion, the company's managing director János Patkós told MTI.

According to the managing director, the total cost of the investment was HUF 634.25 million, for which HUF 261.15 million in European Union support was won under the Széchenyi 2020 program.

The development, which started in the fall of 2021, was completed in January this year. First, two welding robots were purchased, then a 50-kilowatt solar panel system was installed, and a new IT and marketing system was purchased. They expanded their assembly workshop with a 274-sqm covered shed and also built a 1,000-sqm office building.

The main products of Optigép Ltd. are sunflower and maize harvesting adapters, of which 400-500 units are produced annually. The development is expected to increase production capacity by about 10%, the managing director said.

He stressed that they are not stopping with investments and are continuously improving their products and production technology. In the near future, they plan to install a 400-600 kilowatt solar panel system, a 3D metal printer and laser cutting machines.

The company currently supplies to 12 countries, and is looking to develop existing markets as well as new ones, he said.
