For the fourth year in a row, the supermarket chain Lidl Hungary supports the Heim Pál Pediatric Institute in Budapest through its foundation: the company has now increased its related annual budget from HUF 78 million to almost HUF 100 million.

Lidl Hungary told MTI on Tuesday that as part of its support program, in addition to helping Hungarian children and families in need, it also has the Hungarian health sector at heart, and has been providing food donations to the Heim Pál Pediatric Institute on a monthly basis since 2019.

The supermarket chain has so far donated HUF 260 million to the children's hospital, and over the past year, it has provided nearly 11 tons of fresh meat, nearly 6.5 tons of fresh fruit and vegetables, 2.6 tons of cheese, 3,700 packs of baby food, 5.2 tons of cold cuts and around 7.5 tons of dry pasta, among other things.

The donations cover all commodities and their composition is always decided by the hospital's catering manager, taking into account individual food allergies and sensitivities. In addition to the donation, the chain also provides regular assistance with the delivery of food, the statement said.
