According to preliminary financial accounts data, the net financing needs of the general government in Hungary amounted to HUF 697 billion in the second quarter, or 3.8% of GDP, compared with 11.4% in the previous quarter and 1.6% a year earlier, the National Bank of Hungary (MNB) said on Friday.
In the year to the end of June, financing needs stood at HUF 6,032 billion, or 8.6% of GDP, and including the Eximbank balance, at HUF 5,895 billion, or 8.4% of GDP.
The consolidated gross debt of general government at nominal value stood at HUF 50,242 billion, or 71.5% of GDP, at the end of June. Including Eximbank's debt, the sector's debt stood at HUF 52,727 billion, or 75.0% of GDP, up 0.1 percentage point from the previous quarter and 1.6 percentage points lower than a year earlier.
