With a greenfield investment of around HUF 52 billion, GKN, one of the world's largest automotive suppliers, is creating 1500 jobs in Felsőzsolca.
According to a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, the British-owned automotive parts manufacturer GKN Automotive Hungary Kft. said at a factory opening that the company will supply BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Suzuki and Volkswagen with the plant it will build as part of the project.
The project could create 200 new jobs as early as this year, when the second phase of the work is completed, and 1,500 by the end of 2026. The Hungarian state is providing aid for the investment, the amount of which will be announced later, once the European Commission has given its approval.
