Investors submitted offers worth HUF 27.5 billion in UniCredit Jelzálogbank Plc.'s third green mortgage bond issue, of which the bank accepted HUF 20 billion in the originally offered amount, almost half of which was subscribed by commercial banks, the company told MTI on Wednesday.
According to the information, the bank's fixed-rate 5.5-year UCJBF 2029/A series of green bonds (issued bonds backed by green assets) were bought by domestic and international investors in the public auction on the Budapest Stock Exchange.
Of the HUF 20 billion bond issue, 47.5% was subscribed by commercial banks, 25% by multilateral institutions, 20% by the National Bank of Hungary (MNB) and 7.5% by investment funds and other institutional investors.
The proceeds will be used to finance a portfolio of residential mortgages classified as green. The use of resources and environmental impact calculations - final energy use and carbon emission savings - will be verified by the bank with an external auditor, they said.
