Budapest Mayor Receives U.S. Embassy Chargé d’Affaires

Robert Palladino, the Chargé d'Affaires of the United States Embassy in the Hungarian capital, paid an introductory visit to the City Hall, Budapest Mayor Gergely Karácsony said on his Facebook page on Wednesday.

MTI quotes the mayor’s notes that he had a substantive and good-humored conversation with the diplomat. During the meeting, the deepening of cooperation between the capital and the embassy, especially in the cultural and economic fields, was discussed, he said.

As Gergely Karácsony put it, “Budapest, as the capital of the Hungarian nation, has centuries-long relationship with the United States, and the pursuit of freedom has played a defining role in our history. The relationship between our nations is based on shared values and traditions, and transcends individuals or political parties."
