E.ON Drive Infrastructure (EDRI) Hungary Ltd. is equipping department store chains belonging to MMXH Home Furnishing Ltd. with electric car chargers nationwide with a total investment of around EUR 1.2 million (HUF 487 million), the company informed MTI on Thursday.

The Hungarian company of EDRI GmbH, a European charging station operator belonging to the E.ON group, will install 92 electric charging points at XXXLutz, Möbelix and Mömax department stores in 25 locations in 11 cities, according to the statement.

The first chargers were installed in the parking lot of XXXLutz's Budapest store on Thursday.

Under the project, the company is installing FC (fast charger) and HPC (high performance charger) chargers with a capacity of between 50 and 400 kilowatts at the chain's stores in the capital, as well as at its branches in Budaörs, Nyíregyháza, Debrecen, Sopron, Pécs, Győr, Kecskemét, Miskolc, Székesfehérvár and Szeged. The chargers can be used for any type of electric vehicle, they added.

EDRI's Hungarian company designs, builds and operates the charging points in the area provided by customers through its own investment, which are supplied with 100% certified green energy, the statement quoted Managing Director Péter Boros.

EDRI operates more than 7.100 public charging points in 11 European countries, including more than 400 in Hungary, and expands its network by installing a thousand more high-capacity charging points every year with local partners.
