HungaroControl's air traffic controllers (ATCs) managed 950,926 flights in Hungarian airspace in January-September, 7% more than in the same period a year earlier, the state-owned company said on Tuesday.

The most notable month was August, with 137,374 aircraft. According to forecasts, the expected annual traffic volume could reach 1.2-1.3 million aircraft.

Despite the significant increase in traffic, 80% fewer delays were recorded than in 2024, the air traffic controller reported on Tuesday, according to the statement. As a result, the Hungarian air navigation service has become one of the most accurate service providers in Europe.

The number of flights the ATCs managed that only passed through Hungarian airspace accounted for 85% of the total.
