A new, comprehensive financing option called the Green Momentum Loan Program is available from the Hungarian Development Bank (MFB). The program, which has a budget of approximately HUF 30 billion and consists of investment loans and working capital loans, aims to promote the transition of domestic businesses and organizations to sustainable operations, technological renewal and strengthening their competitiveness, the bank informed MTI on Tuesday.

According to the announcement, the novelty of the MFB Green Momentum Loan Program is that it is available to micro, small and medium-sized enterprises, large companies, and, among others, universities, thereby strengthening the domestic innovation ecosystem. The loan amount available under the loan program, which has a total budget of approximately HUF 30 billion (EUR 75 million), can be a minimum of HUF 100 million and a maximum of HUF 10 billion, or the equivalent in euros, for both investment loans and working capital loans.

The MFB Green Momentum Investment Loan provides financing for developments that directly contribute to the sustainable operation of businesses, improving their energy efficiency or reducing their environmental footprint. The investment loan can be used for energy-efficient building modernization, renewable energy production systems such as solar power plants, geothermal solutions or biogas plants, the development of energy storage capacities, sustainable water and waste management developments, investments supporting circular operations, equipment and technology replacements aimed at increasing industrial energy efficiency, and green real estate development projects.
