Suzuki retained its leading position on Hungary's passenger car market in 2025, Magyar Suzuki said on Monday.
Datahouse statistics show over 14,200 new Suzuki passenger cars were registered in Hungary in 2025, giving the brand 11.04pc market share.
Suzuki took the top spot for the 22nd time since it started production of cars in Esztergom (N Hungary). Two models produced at the plant, the S-CROSS and the Vitara, were top-selling models in 2025. S-CROSS sales reached 6,500, making it the best-selling car in Hungary, and Vitara sales came to 5,590, putting it in third place. Sales of the Suzuki Swift, also made in Esztergom, came to 1,967.
The factory modernization developments completed by the end of the year and the popularity of the two Hungarian-made models, the S-CROSS and the Vitara, played a major role in the stable operation of the Esztergom-based manufacturing company.
It was announced that the S-CROSS ranked first among all new passenger cars sold in Hungary with 6,500 units sold, while the Vitara ranked third with 5,590 units sold.
The demand for hybrid models is demonstrated by the fact that, despite five difficult years marked by the pandemic, the energy crisis, geopolitical conflicts, and inflation, the 500,000th model with this drive system was produced in Esztergom in 2025. Meanwhile, the one-millionth Vitara was produced in February last year.
