First-half domestic revenue of the local unit of Italian building materials maker Mapei rose 14.6% year-on-year to HUF 20.6 billion, Mapei Ltd. said on Tuesday.
Export revenue of the unit, mainly to Romania and Serbia, surged 183.2% to HUF 584 million.
The press release quoted Béla Markovich, managing director of Mapei Ltd., who pointed out that if EU funds become available and major investment projects resume, the second half of the year could already create the conditions for an economic upturn.
According to the company, the most important question for the coming months is the pace at which EU-funded investments will get underway. These are expected to focus primarily on major infrastructure developments, railway and energy projects, and public building renovations. The press release quoted Béla Markovich, managing director of Mapei Ltd., who pointed out that if EU funds become available and major investment projects resume, the second half of the year could already create the conditions for an economic upturn.
