Samsung SDI Hungary is implementing a comprehensive environmental action plan in Göd, north of Budapest, that focuses on noise control, air quality and strengthening local community engagement. According to the company’s announcement on Monday, it will hold quarterly community forums in the future and will publish real-time data from noise and air quality monitoring systems to be installed around the factory for the public.
Samsung’s plant in Göd is implementing a comprehensive environmental action plan that includes noise control measures, the installation of real-time noise and air quality monitoring systems, and the further strengthening of its local community engagement, Samsung SDI Hungary (SDIHU) told MTI on Monday, noting that it holds quarterly public forums to consult with residents of Göd.
The company stated that it publishes continuous, real-time noise and air quality measurement results, collects feedback from residents, and uses this feedback to determine further improvements.
The package of measures includes specific steps and new SDIHU investments, the primary goal of which is environmental and noise protection. The announcement comes exactly 10 years after Samsung SDI decided in 2016 to build Hungary’s first electric vehicle battery factory, the company stated.
The action plan, based on the needs and requests of local residents, outlines developments in seven areas: noise protection, air quality, groundwater and soil, wastewater, industrial water use, the workplace environment, and corporate social responsibility (CSR). The cornerstone of the package of measures is the establishment of continuous, real-time noise and air quality monitoring systems.
