Output of Hungary's industrial sector rose 4.7% year-on-year in July, a first reading of data released by the Central Statistical Office (KSH) on Monday shows.

Output rose at the same pace when adjusted for the number of workdays.

Output fell in most branches of manufacturing, KSH said. Among the biggest, output of the automotive branch and of computer, electronic and optical products increased, but declined in the electrical equipment and the food, drinks and tobacco segments.

In a month-on-month comparison, output edged up a seasonally- and workday-adjusted 1.7%.

In January-July, industrial output rose 2.7%. KSH will release detailed data for the month on September 15.
