Hungary is rolling out the red carpet for World Tourism Day, with nearly 100 special events across 57 Tourinform offices in the country between September 21 and 30, VisitHungary has announced.
The celebrations, tied to the UN's World Tourism Day on September 27, showcase the country's diverse offerings – from themed walks and local heritage tours to cultural, gastronomic and active experiences.
For wine lovers, Balatonfüred, Badacsony and Vonyarcvashegy will host guided wine-tasting tours on September 27.
Mystery seekers can dive into city legends in Veszprem, try their luck at a treasure hunt in Tihany, or test their detective skills in Zalaegerszeg's Green Maze adventure game.
And for those who love a bit of time travel, Bükfürdő offers an interactive walk through the history of its thermal waters, Szarvas invites visitors to step back in time on an unconventional city tour, while Szombathely promises a historical adventure with its Giant Board Game, reaching all the way back to ancient times.
