As a result of a EUR 15 million greenfield investment, PEX Automotive Systems Ltd.. and Baolong Holdings Europe Kft. set up a new production site in Szigetszentmiklós that has now been officially inaugurated. About 30% of the investment cost is borne by Hungarian taxpayers through a government decision.

Apart from manufacturing the traditional products of the company such as brake wear signals and cables, e-mobility and intelligent automotive related production will be made. Under the project the creation of 35 new jobs can be expected down the road.

Founded in 1997, Shanghai Baolong Automotive Corporation (Baolong) is one of the largest Chinese automotive suppliers that has manufacturing sites in China, the US, Hungary and Germany. The Hungarian presence of the Group has now become more significant as two of its subsidiaries, PEX Automotive Systems Kft. and Baolong Holding Europe Kft. have opened a new production facility in Szigetszentmiklós.

Under the EUR 15 million greenfield investment that should create 35 new jobs, a production hall of 7,500 sqm, an office space of 2,160 sqm and a storage area of 1,600 sqm have been established, the Hungarian Investment Promotion Agency reports.

The company plans to make the Szigetszentmiklós site to the European hub of its automotive sensors division.
