Russian foreign minister Sergei Lavrov paid a one-day visit to Budapest to have talks with different Hungarian politicians, including PM Viktor Orbán and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó. Several analysts believe that the real purpose of the visit was to drive a wedge in EU's and NATO's unity.
According to Minister Szijjártó, the main topic was discussing Hungary’s bilateral economic relationswith Russia. Minister Lavrov stressed that Hungary is an important partner for Russia, and the cooperation of Moscow and Budapest has fine prospect.
