A commemoration ceremony was held at the stadium named after the world-famous Hungarian footballer Puskás Ferenc on Monday to mark the 20th anniversary of the naming ceremony of the Puskás Arena.
At the event, Hungarian State Secretary for Sport, Ádám Schmidt, quoted Brazilian football star Pelé who had said that Puskás would have been the best footballer even on the moon.
Former captain of the Hungarian national team, Gábor Király, spoke about his personal memories of Ferenc Puskás, while Marco Rossi, the current head coach of the Hungarian national team, explained that his childhood was also marked by the experience Puskás gave him. He added that the aim of his successors is to ensure that the national team lives up to the tradition.
