Britain's Thomas Percy won the men's half marathon event at the 38th Telekom Vivicittá running festival, which was attended by almost 20,000 people in the Hungarian capital on Saturday and Sunday.
According to the Budapest Sports Office, the British athlete completed the 21-kilometer course in 1 hour 11 minutes and 28 seconds. The women's race was won by a Hungarian competitor, Anissa Weibl from Győr.
People from 83 countries came to Budapest for the two-day running festival. Many were there for the experience, others were running for charity. The most popular event was the 21-kilometer half-marathon, which attracted 6,000 entries.
On Sunday, runners could choose between a half marathon (21 kms) individually or in team of 2 or 3 or a Vivicittá (10 km), while on Saturday, the focus was on shorter distances for the less experienced runners.
